Abstract

In the fast paced high volume world we live in today, many are under greater stress than ever before. The potential use of Brainwave Biofeedback as a novel and non-invasive stress monitoring and reduction tool is examined. This process is based on observing and responding to one’s own brain activity in real-time for gaining self-insights and controlling them.

Recent research has also demonstrated that people who practice this regularly produce lower levels of stress. It is able to do so as it helps people relax thus increase emotional resilience. Users gain instant feedback relating to their current brainwave pattern that allows them to condition and manipulate mental states, thus feeling more in control of their stress reactions.

The following research unpicks the neuroscience,26-33 demonstrating the potential for Brainwave biofeedback to enhance both emotional health and cognitive function.

As the need for simple, personalised stress reduction solutions is gain further focus, this study will be featured as an exciting advancement in helping people to take a proactive approach by finding ways to challenge stress which in turn helps to resolve their mental health problems. It also supports further investigation and development of the practical use for stress alleviation and brain health.
